Since the original edition of Birds of America, completed and printed in 1839 in London, the work of the famous naturalist and adventurer Jean-Jacques Audubon, three new editions have been printed. These were : The Royal First Octavo Edition (1840-1844), The Bien Edition (1860) and The Amsterdam Edition (1972). From now we can add The John James Audubon Portfolio, published in October 2004 by "Les Edition de la Main Fleurie". This original edition includes drawings by the artist recently discovered in the Natural History Museum of La Rochelle, accompanied by a choice of Audubon's writings. This portfolio is edited with an introduction by Ben Forkner

Depuis l'édition originale de Birds of America, achevée d'imprimer en 1839 à Londres, l'oeuvre du célèbre naturaliste et aventurier Jean-Jacques Audubon a connu trois réeditions. Il s'agit de "The First Royal Octavo Edition" (1840-1844), "The Bien Edition" (1860), et de "Amsterdam Edition" (1972). Nous devons y ajouter désormais "The John James Audubon Portfolio", publié en octobre 2004 aux "Editions de la Main Fleurie". Ce livre comprend des dessins de Jean-Jacques Audubon récemment découverts au Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de La Rochelle, enrichis par une sélection de textes d'Audubon. Ce portfolio inclut une introduction de Ben Forkner.
